Este año será muy interesante, ya que comenzamos la era de los agentes inteligentes. Todo se volverá más dinámico y rápido, y no podremos desperdiciar el tiempo en el trabajo, tendremos que ser más eficiente en lo importante, ya que siempre estaremos compitiendo por mantenernos al día en todos los aspectos de la vida: en el trabajo, en el hogar, con la familia y con los amigos. Para ello, necesitaremos un agente que nos mantenga al ritmo de los demás y evite que nos quedemos atrás.

Actividades como buscar la información necesaria para elaborar un contrato, recopilar datos mensuales para generar reportes de resultados y analizar las tendencias de diferentes informes generados por nuestro sistema de Business Intelligence (BI), invertir tanto tiempo en esto, ya no serán viables en este mundo tan dinámico. Para estas tareas, necesitaremos un agente que nos proporcione superhabilidades, permitiéndonos convertirnos en profesionales que formulan preguntas, generamos instrucciones precisas, integran, revisan, corrigen y generan información valiosa para los negocios. De esta manera, no perderemos tiempo buscando, elaborando, filtrando, leyendo y resumiendo información. La competencia llegará primero o perderemos las oportunidades del momento.

Asumiremos un papel más de supervisores y evaluadores, corrigiendo y mejorando procesos. No se trata solo de capturar información, sino de asegurarnos de que esta sea correcta y tiene sentido para el negocio. No estaremos escribiendo un reporte desde cero, sino definiendo qué queremos que contenga y qué aspectos debemos procesar. La capacidad de interpretar un pedido, plantear un problema y elaborar un prompt será una de las habilidades que se convertirán en algo muy importante a desarrollar. Sin embargo, para esto, debemos estar preparados. Actualmente, ni las universidades ni las empresas nos capacitan para estos roles, por lo que es necesario desarrollar habilidades como el pensamiento crítico, la capacidad de análisis y síntesis, la lectura rápida y ser más generalistas. Debemos tener la capacidad de supervisar diversas áreas, comprender diferentes área de una negocios, finanzas, ventas, operaciones y mas, para poder integrar equipos de trabajo con superpoderes mediante agentes que nos ayuden a ser más eficientes.

De lo que sí estoy seguro es que el mundo será más rápido y debemos estar preparados. Para ello, necesitaremos un agente en nuestra actividades cotidianas, como hoy en día es el teléfono móvil; de lo contrario, perderemos competitividad en cualquier ámbito de nuestra vida: trabajo, personal, como padres, etc.

Ya no podremos perder tiempo buscando información en internet o resumiendo documentos, como la información necesaria para un contrato o un reporte ejecutivo. Pero esto no debe desanimarnos, ya que los grandes proveedores de aplicaciones, ya están integrando la inteligencia artificial en sus productos básicos: en la redacción de correos electrónicos, en procesadores de texto para revisar documentos, en computadoras para organizar archivos y buscar contenido dentro de ellos de manera mas rápida y eficiente. Además, habrá tal integración de nuestras aplicaciones actuales que no notaremos que es una IA la que nos está ayudando, aprendiendo de todo lo que hacemos para asistirnos y hacerlo mejor.

Un elemento que estoy convencido que evolucionará radicalmente es la interfaz con la que interactuamos con la IA. Es aquí donde aparecerán los agentes de lenguaje natural (LAM), que prácticamente son como tener un asistente que te ayuda a buscar, clasificar y redactar lo que estás buscando.

Ahora, imaginemos una oficina: buscar un dato que sabemos que está en algún documento ya no requerirá buscar por título, abrir el documento y leerlo en su totalidad para encontrarlo. Simplemente le preguntaremos a un agente administrador de mi nube y listo. Nos podrá hacer un resumen del mismo o capacitar a la fuerza de ventas o al call center en las últimas políticas de la empresa. Simplemente preguntando, el agente tendrá la última versión liberada y proporcionará la información más actualizada, generando un resumen e incluso un pequeño video explicativo del tema si es necesario.

O bien pongámonos en el escenario personal, un agente en mi celular que registra todo lo que hago en casa, por medio de mis lentes que registran lo mismo que yo veo, por ejemplo: dónde guardé la factura del refrigerador para su garantía hace seis meses, o si perdí las llaves del carro o vi que me tome el último yogurt del refrigerador. Simplemente preguntaré dónde dejé las llaves y mi agente me recordará que la última vez que las vi fue en tal lugar. O cómo preparé el platillo navideño con mi mamá el año pasado; tendré un registro de cómo lo hice y podré repetirlo de la misma manera un año después. O en qué tienda vi tal o cual producto; solo tendré que preguntarle: «¿Dónde vi aquellos pantalones azules con rojo que me gustaron y cuánto costaban?», en una tienda, con un amigo, en la oficina o en algún sitio web, Ya no perderé el tiempo en eso, sino que simplemente me dirá donde y tomare acción para comprarlo o le mejor aun le diré que los pida en AMAZON y seguiré con actividades más importantes.

Pero en todo esta revolución surge un dilema como personas, tendremos que saber qué hacer con ese tiempo, cómo desarrollar nuestras capacidades humanas y cómo incentivar las relaciones interpersonales que son lo que nos hace más humanos. Tendremos que empezar a recomponer nuestras vidas y el sentido de las mismas, fortaleciendo el tiempo de convivencia, de realización, de análisis, de trabajo en equipo y de hacer deporte. Si no empezamos a redefinir este giro, nuestro cerebro se rara flojo y nuestra mente se empezará a oxidar y en lugar de avanzar, retrocederemos como personas, y aquellos que logren capitalizar la IA como un superpoder que los hace más poderosos nos dejarán atrás…. sin lugar a duda esto generará una nueva desigualdad social e intelectual…

The Era of Intelligent Agents
This year will be very interesting as we begin the era of intelligent agents. Everything will become more dynamic and faster, and we won’t be able to waste time at work. We’ll need to be more efficient in what truly matters, as we’ll always be competing to keep up in every aspect of life: at work, at home, with family, and with friends. To do this, we’ll need an agent to help us stay in sync with others and prevent us from falling behind.

Activities like searching for the necessary information to draft a contract, gathering monthly data to generate performance reports, and analyzing trends from various Business Intelligence (BI) system reports will no longer be viable in such a fast-paced world. For these tasks, we’ll need an agent to give us superpowers, enabling us to become professionals who ask questions, generate precise instructions, integrate, review, correct, and produce valuable business information. This way, we won’t waste time searching, drafting, filtering, reading, and summarizing information. Otherwise, competitors will beat us to the punch, and we’ll miss timely opportunities.

We will take on a more supervisory and evaluative role, correcting and improving processes. It’s not just about capturing information but ensuring it’s accurate and makes sense for the business. We won’t write a report from scratch but will define what we want it to include and which aspects to process. The ability to interpret a request, pose a problem, and create a prompt will become a crucial skill to develop. However, for this, we must be prepared. Currently, neither universities nor companies train us for these roles, so we need to cultivate skills like critical thinking, analytical and synthetic abilities, speed reading, and becoming more generalist. We must be able to supervise various areas, understand different aspects of a business—finance, sales, operations, and more—to integrate teams with superpowers through agents that make us more efficient.

What I’m sure of is that the world will move faster, and we need to be prepared. To do this, we’ll need an agent for our daily activities, much like the mobile phone is today; otherwise, we’ll lose competitiveness in every aspect of our lives: work, personal, as parents, etc.

We won’t be able to waste time searching for information online or summarizing documents, such as the necessary data for a contract or an executive report. But this shouldn’t discourage us because major app providers are already integrating AI into their basic products: in email drafting, word processors for document review, computers to organize files, and search content within them faster and more efficiently. Additionally, our current applications will be so well-integrated with AI that we won’t even notice it’s AI assisting us, learning from everything we do to help us and do it better.

One element I’m convinced will evolve radically is the interface we use to interact with AI. This is where natural language agents (LAM) will emerge, essentially like having an assistant to help you search, classify, and draft what you need.

Now, imagine an office: finding a piece of data you know is in a document will no longer require searching by title, opening the document, and reading it in full to locate it. You’ll simply ask a cloud management agent, and that’s it. It will summarize it, train the sales force or call center on the latest company policies, or even generate a small explanatory video on the topic if necessary.

Or let’s consider a personal scenario: an agent on my phone that records everything I do at home, using glasses that capture the same things I see. For example, where I stored the refrigerator’s warranty six months ago, or where I lost my car keys, or even if I took the last yogurt from the fridge. I’ll simply ask where I left the keys, and my agent will remind me where I last saw them. Or how I prepared the Christmas dish with my mom last year; I’ll have a record of how I did it and can replicate it the same way a year later. Or where I saw a specific product, like a pair of blue and red pants I liked and how much they cost—whether in a store, with a friend, at the office, or online. I won’t waste time on this anymore; I’ll simply be told where to find them or, better yet, instruct the agent to order them on Amazon and move on to more important activities.

But in this revolution, a dilemma arises: as individuals, we’ll have to decide what to do with the freed-up time, how to develop our human capabilities, and how to nurture interpersonal relationships, which are what make us human. We’ll need to start restructuring our lives and their meaning, strengthening time spent socializing, achieving personal goals, analyzing, working as a team, and engaging in physical activities. If we don’t begin to redefine this shift, our brains will become lazy, our minds will stagnate, and instead of advancing, we’ll regress as individuals. Those who manage to harness AI as a superpower to enhance their capabilities will undoubtedly leave us behind, creating a new intellectual and social inequality.
